Photography overview

The following is the photography style for the Masarra brand.

Photography is a key component for the brand and whenever possible the brand style should be implemented to ensure a cohesive and recognisable look across the brand marketing and comms.

The photography style is based on capturing the moments that cause our senses to be heightened, engaged, and become present in the moment. The photography should feature the duality of capturing the scene that a person may be in, and the feeling that they are getting from being present in that moment, destination or experience.

Below are a range of examples of capturing this duality, through extreme close-ups of an individual in a moment – for example someones eye in focus or the goosebumps on someones skin, used in conjunction with the location they are in – which reflects the delight, emotion or reaction they are feeling at the given location.

The photography has been paired up to show this duality and can be used in conjunction with the Masarra Lens device. The combinations of images shown are just a selection of examples and should be expanded upon across all brand marketing and communications.

Photography style

The following are a range of attributes that all Masarra  photography should aim to feature or capture. This is purely a guide and creative judgement should be used to assess what is suitable for particular subject matter or content type.

As the nature and subject matter of the photography is wide and varied, the photography style is relatively open in terms of how the content is shot. However there are certain principles and exceptions which have been listed further below in the guidelines.

Core photography principles

  1. Ensure photography brightly lit, using natural lighting, and full of colour and richness in terms of hue, saturation and tone
  2. Ensure photography features people of a wide range of communities, cultures and ethnicity
  3. Ensure people are in their natural state, and not in a posed state
  4. Ensure the people are given context in the environment they are situated in
  5. Ensure the environments captured feature themes or moods that are either exciting, enticing, engaging, unique, or curious
